Our mission is to nurture the appreciation of lifelong reading and to help learners become
effective users of ideas and information.
Our collection includes a rich mix of multicultural print and
electronic resources. We provide thousands of materials to support our Accelerated Reader program and student research needs.
We have an Internet-based media catalog and student-friendly academic electronic databases. Washington's wireless media center also features an iMac project lab, MacBooks and professional library.
Recently, we proudly received a $15,000 Library Services and Technology Act Federal grant (LSTA) to launch the "North End Audio Book Buds" program in partnership with the Saint Paul Public Library Rice Street branch.
We are purchasing portable, digital audiobooks called "PlayAways" to add to our collection. These resources will then be available to our students at the Rice Street branch during the summer to support their reading.
