This is a one quarter class designed to help increase student's math scores by filling in the gaps we see from their 8th grade MCAIII Math score. Students were placed in this class because they have not scored as "Proficient" on the 8th grade MCAIII math test last year.
Getting students to "Proficient" is the goal! In 2 short years, these 9th grade students will be taking the 11th grade MCA/GRAD test. This is a high stakes test to be eligible for graduating with their class. It is VITAL that we work to get their skills up to par.
There are four 2-week units:
1) Graphing
2) Geometry
3) Simplifying radical expressions
4) Probability
Each unit ends with a summative quiz.
There will be an end of the quarter exam covering all topics.
We will also work all quarter on solving equations (linear and quadratic.)
