of Minnesota campus, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar was joined by renowned
Arctic explorer Will Steger in presenting her “Carbon Buster Awards of
Excellence” to Minnesota K-12 students who have made special efforts to
raise public awareness about the need for action on global climate
change. “Climate
change is a real problem, but it also has real solutions,” said
Klobuchar. “We have the power, as individuals and working together, to
take serious action to reduce the threats posed by global warming. As
is often the case when the world is changing, it’s the younger
generations who are among the most aware and the first to take
action.” The Washington students were recognized in the multimedia
category for a website and rap/video they did on Global Warming as part
of Ms. Erickson's Environmental Science class.
