I'm Ms. Shanie Xiong, 8th grade school counselor at Washington Technology Middle School. This is my first year at Washington Middle School however it is my third year as a secondary school counselor. I am very excited for this school year to begin. I'm looking forward to meeting many of the students who were here last year and many new 8th grade students also. I will be providing services in the areas of academic skills support, emotional and social needs of our students. And I will be helping students get adjusted to being back to school. I will also be working with students to improve their school attendance. One of the factors of school success is to be attending school on time everyday unless there is an excused absence. In addition, I enjoyed meeting with our students' parents and families to offer assistance. Please do not hesitate to call or schedule a meeting with me.
