I am new to the Reading Team at Washington this year.  I have taught mostly Social Studies in Saint Paul for almost 20 years.  I recently completed the requirements to earn a Reading license.   This is my first formal assignment to teach reading.  However, having taught Social Studies for so many years, I was teaching reading in an informalway.  In addition to my background in Social Studies I have a Technology Integration certificate, so I bring a lot of experience and ideas from those two areas into my reading classroom. 

I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Western Michigan University at Kalamazoo, and a Masters of Teaching and Learning through Winona State University.  My course work for the Reading License was done through Hamline University, where I also earned a certificate in Technology Integration.

My interests include travel, bicycling and camping and spending time with my children and grandchildren.
