Mr. Hoard's web page
Hello there,

My name is Mr. Hoard and I will be your Health teacher for your sophomore year.  I also teach P.E at Washington.  I attended Augsburg college, where I earned my teaching degree in Health and Physical Education.  I also wrestled at Augsburg, where I was a member  of the 1993 and 1995 National Championship team.  I have been teaching and coaching for 14 years.  While teaching, I went back to college and earned a Masters in Administration through Saint Mary's and a Masters in Differentiated Instruction through Graceland University.

Now let's talk about what we will be doing in health.  In 10th grade health the focus is shifted to how your decision not only effects you, but also how it effects the community you live in.  Along with learning about fitness, nutrition, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, std's, unplanned pregancies, first aid/CPR, you will also gain experience in working with a team, acquire problem solving skill, and engage in higher level thinking.  These are the top skills that employers are looking for when hiring.

Here are 3 key ingredients to being successful in school
     - Be in class everyday ( be on time and be prepared to learn)
     - pay attention to your teachers
     - put in the hard hard

Have fun and I look forward to seeing you in class.
