It's already time for spring training at Washington

On February 7, former Minnesota Twins great Juan Berenguer visited Washington to meet with prospective members of the Washington baseball team.  "Senor Smoke" as the awesome hurler is known as worked out with the team and talked to the players about how they had to work hard to achieve their goals.  He shared stories about his upbringing and career including his pivotal role in the Twins clinching the World Series Championship.  Members of the team are practicing indoors in preparation for the upcoming season as part of the WINGS extended day program in a class called "Batter Up."  The class includes the fundamentals of baseball as well as reading baseball-related literature.  Pictured with the class and Mr. Berenguer is Mr. Pat Faranacci, teacher of the class and Educational Assistant at Washington.
