Listen and Read at the Same Time
Starting now, you may see Washington students reading a book and listening to a digital audiobook at the same time. This is the newest technology to help promote reading and is called a "Play-away." We have about sixty titles right now and will add many more over the course of the next two years. This Play-aways were funded by a federal Library Services and Technology Act grant Washington was awarded earlier this year. Students will also be able to access the Play-aways during the summer when we bring them over to the Rice Street Branch of the Saint Paul Public Library. The program is coined the "North End Audio Book Buds" program. Here's hoping great enjoyment and improved reading for our students.
